MILWAUKEE DRIVE

This masterplan envisions a vibrant, multi-layered backyard designed to balance social connection with everyday relaxation. The landscape is arranged across two elevations, creating distinct zones that serve a variety of purposes. Much of the work for this design will involve carefully regrading the backyard to optimize flow and function, as well as repurposing existing materials to enhance sustainability and character. A thoughtful blend of native and ornamental plantings will ensure a lush yet low-maintenance environment that supports a healthy, thriving garden. On the upper terrace, a dedicated production area will host higher-maintenance edible plants, maximizing sunlight exposure for robust harvests. Three primary social spaces, the patio, the platform garden, and the side yard, will offer flexible settings for gatherings both large and small. A practical utility zone near the garage will provide ample room for wood storage, splitting, and other outdoor chores, ensuring the backyard is as functional as it is beautiful.
